A high-quality juried fine art event, the Mandarin Art Festival enjoys thousands of visitors who return year after year for their favorite artist or to see the array of creations by artists new to the Festival.

The local non-profit Mandarin Community Club hosts the annual event, held every Easter weekend since 1968.  Founded by Judge Westberry and a group of local artists, it's the longest running event of its kind in northeast Florida.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ARTISTS

Entry Requirements:
  • Artists must be at least 18 years of age. 
  • Creations must be deemed Fine Art or Fine Craft (defined as difficult to learn, produces work that is complex, and is completely designed and produced from scratch by the maker as reflected by the price). 
  • All artwork must be original. No kits, buy-sell, mass-produced, manufactured goods, ceramics cast from commercial molds, decals or patterns permitted. Only 20% total maximum artist reproductions of original work will be permitted for sale in a booth.
  • This is a juried show. Judging will be done on the entire body of work, not just one piece. Prize money is offered in six (6) categories: Painting (Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Pastel); Photography; Mixed Media/Print Making/ Drawing/ Graphics; Jewelry; Functional Fine Craft (Fiber, Metal, Wood, Pottery, Leather), and Sculpture/Glass.
  • Limited number of exhibitors will be accepted in each of the above categories. Please apply early. 
  • Collaborating artists (limited to 2) MUST have all names on the application. No conglomerate, co-op, group workshop, or apprentice created work is allowed.
 
Site Information:
  • Booth spaces are appropriate for a 10’ x 10’ tent, with limited adjacent storage space. Limit two (2) paid spaces. 
  • Exhibitors will provide their own equipment for displays; must be sturdy and weighted to withstand wind/rain. 
  • All set-up must be conducted and completed on Friday, April 7, 2023.  EXHIBITORS MAY NOT BEGIN SET-UP ON SATURDAY MORNING UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
  • No utilities are available at booth sites nor are extension cords allowed. Only quiet generator use is permitted.
  • NO PARKING IS ALLOWED ON THE GROUNDS. Offsite parking info is provided at check-in. Limited handicap parking is available onsite with a current, valid, and legal handicap parking permit only; others will be towed.
 
Festival Regulations:
  • Exhibiting Artists must be on site (NO PROXY) and man their booth for the entirety of show hours. The exhibitor agrees to accept full responsibility for the care and protection of his/her exhibit at all times. 
  • Work may be shown only in the category selected on your application.
  • Exhibits may not be removed before closing of the show on Sunday. All visitors MUST be off the grounds prior to breaking down & exiting the show. NO vehicles/trailers allowed on property on Sunday until ALL guests depart.
  • NO PETS ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES. Service animals must have ID and be leashed at all times.
  • This is an outdoor venue. Rain or shine policy: Cancellation due to hazardous weather conditions or acts of God is at the discretion of the Mandarin Art Festival Committee; no refunds or credits given. 
  • Entry Fee payment must be made, and will be processed, at time of application. There is absolutely no holding of Entry Fees and no walk-up entries will be accepted.
  • Refunds for valid cancellations are at the discretion of Festival management. NO refunds after March 15, 2023.
  • A returned check fee of $30 will be assessed for any returned item. In the event of a returned check, cash or money order will be required and payment must be received at least two (2) weeks prior to the show.
  • The exhibitor accepts full responsibility for collecting and paying any applicable sales tax (Duval County is 7.5%).
  • The Mandarin Art Festival Committee shall have the final decision in all matters and reserves the right to remove participants for improper conduct, disruptive or fraudulent exhibitors.
 
Violation of these rules will result in removal from the show and ineligibility to participate in future Festivals. Additional guidelines related to the event’s on-site procedures will be provided upon notification of acceptance.
